Jolene Thweatt here! I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. I have worked in the medical field since 1999, in the hospital, urgent care, outpatient surgery, and home care setting. I started my own practice after being turned down by roughly 30 employers after graduating in 2021; because I refused to get the covid-19 jab. I heard that I was qualified for the position but that I would need a vaccine exemption. Well, I was not going to use "religion" as an excuse and me saying no thank you should have been enough. I am a firm believer that we have a natural right to refuse putting anything into our body that may cause harm.
As expected, I gained my patient population and their trust based on my personal values and evidence-based medical knowledge: "We did not know enough about covid-19 or the rushed injections to say it was safe for anyone or everyone." I believe in medical freedom, and informed decision-making and consent. I reject fear and coercion and believe in "safety first." I just find it devastating that we are now finding out that the intubation and ventilations were responsible for so much demise that the illness itself likely would never have caused. Our hast and sloppiness in the medical community was and is unacceptable. I am proud to have stood against the system for myself and my patients. I am always your advocate. ALWAYS!
Besides caring for patients of all ages, I serve as an educator and mentor. So, from time to time I will have nurse practitioner students with me that will be actively involved in your care. There is no scooting through a practitioner program with me and not be ready to be the best! I strive for excellence in healthcare delivery and search for the best treatments and providers for which/whom I may be referring to. I try to participate in medical conferences at least once a year, conduct research, and advocate for the nursing profession. I believe in setting healthcare goals that are attainable and being very open and honest with my patients.
I am also certified in performing commercial driver physicals for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT). I really love doing those exams because it gives me a chance to teach truck drivers about their health and remind them that QuikTrip is NOT a restaurant! As a proud wife and mother of IBEW Local 769 powerline workers, I truly appreciate the BACKBONE of AMERICA! Yes, You, the American Backbone, deserves healthcare that doesn't rip you off and ALWAYS puts you first! You and all of your kind referrals are why my practice exists!
Before I go, let me share this fun fact-
I hold a Doctorate degree, 2 Master's Degrees and a Bachelor's Degree...blah blah, blah. None of that means anything without love for the job and common sense. My father Joe was a good example of how school cannot buy any of what matters most to do a job well done. He quit school in the 8th grade in 1959 to work the family farm in West Virginia. He could build any engine in any truck or tractor, weld the cleanest beads, paint the most flawless coats, and never had a degree or certificate in auto mechanics. He never paid a magazine to put him on the front page to show he was the best mechanic in town. Everyone knew he was the best because of who he was, the job he did, and thus, word of mouth. NOTHING CAN RELPLACE WORD OF MOUTH and that is what I hope to bring to the table for all of you. But you have to let me know if there is anything I can do better or different to meet your needs and I promise to be the best I can for you! We are a team in your health!

I would like to introduce my sister Misty Jo to my practice as my new scheduler! She is working from her home in West Virginia and will be an asset to this practice. She will be helping me make sure all of you are scheduled appropriately and help improve the timeliness in communication. Please give her a warm welcome when you speak with her.
